About Me

About Me

Looking for a therapist can feel like a vulnerable and scary step.  I want to acknowledge your bravery and thank you for considering me as a therapist as you move forward in your healing.

I specialize in working with teens and young adults, particularly those experiencing anxiety, depression, problems at school, or self-harming behaviors.

However, I have several years of experience working with all age groups, from age five to seventy-five. and would love to hear from you if you want to explore working together, regardless of your age.  I especially enjoy working with people who are feeling ready to commit to therapy, and who are looking for someone who can help them to build on their insight to improve their abilities to cope with difficult emotions.

In my work, I draw on a wide range of different therapy techniques, but I am particularly interested in CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), Flash, and more traditional psychodynamic therapies.  My goal is to help you to both gain more skills with managing difficult emotions, behaviors, and situations, as well as to increase knowledge and insight into what led to these challenges being so present for you.  Some people benefit from one of those approaches more than the other, so I adapt my work based on what helps you.  I also occasionally incorporate techniques from other approaches, including DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and art therapy, depending on what is helpful to you.
