Payment Options

There are a few options for payment for individual sessions:

  1. If you would like to use your insurance and I am in-network with your insurance plan, I will bill your insurance for sessions and you would be responsible for any copays and deductibles as determined by your plan.  I am currently only in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, and Aetna.

  2. If I am NOT in-network with your insurance plan, you might want to check to see if you have out-of-network benefits (I have a handout with questions that you can ask your insurance carrier to determine this; feel free to ask me for it).  If you do have sufficient out-of-network benefits, you will be responsible for paying my private pay fee, but I can then give you a "superbill," which is a type of receipt that some insurance companies will use to reimburse you for some of your healthcare expenses.  After you pay for your sessions, you would send that receipt to your insurance company and they might reimburse some of what you paid for your sessions.

  3. If you do not choose to use your insurance, my private pay fee is $160 per intake session and $140 for each 45-55 minute session afterwards.  I have a sliding scale to help us consider both of our financial needs. Please note that if you are private pay, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate, which includes an estimate of the annual cost of us working together. I can provide this in writing and we can also discuss it verbally.

Regardless of our payment arrangement, payment is always due at the time of the session.
